This aircraft was named after Vladimir Nikolayevich CHELOMEY (1914 – 1984), Soviet mechanics scientist and rocket engineer, the head of Special Design Bureau.
His Space Design Bureau worked on the "Almaz” orbital stations officially known as Salyut 3, and Salyut 5.
 
The "V. CHELOMEY” aircraft.
