PLOVDIV PHILA 2019
From 17 to 20 October 2019 the "PLOVDIV PHILA 2019” philatelic exhibition took place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The Honor guest of the Exhibition was Tsar Simeon II (the last reigning Tsar of Bulgaria from 1943 to 1946, before later serving as Prime Minister of Bulgaria from 2001 to 2005).
In the frames of the exhibition there was the AIEP Annual General Meeting. After the closing of the General Meeting, the AIEP members took part in the Hunziker Medal award presentation ceremony. In according to the Judging Panel decision, the 2019 Hunziker Medal was given in the hands of Simeon Borisov Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (Bulgarian: Симеон Борисов Сакскобургготски), known formerly or by courtesy as King Simeon II or Tsar Simeon II.

In the frames of the exhibition Bulgarian Posts issued the Mini sheet devoted to the 100th birth anniversary of Nikolay Haytov, Bulgarian writer. In the lower part of the Mini sheet there is a text about the AIEP Annual General Meeting. It is the world first official state philatelic issue mentioned the AIEP.
