Seminar on "Space Philately” in Saint-Petersburg.
On October 11, 2011 the "Space Philately Seminar” was held in the A.S.Popov central museum of communications in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
The event was devoted to the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s space flight.
Acting Head of Federal Agency of Communications Mr. Sergey A. Malyanov sent his greeting to the participants.
The Seminar was opened by Mrs. Liudmila N. Bakayutova, Director of the central museum of communications. The representative of Saint- Petersburg’s Department of Russian Post welcomed the seminar’s participants.
13 reports and presentations on Astrophilately and Space Thematic philately were presented during the Seminar. The Museum of communications and a number of speakers presented their philatelic exhibits in one of the Museum’s halls.

Igor Rodin is making a report about the development of Soviet/Russian Space Mail.
After his report Igor Rodin presented a Space Mail envelope with the AIEP certificate to the Museum. The present was handed over to Mrs. Liudmila Bakayutova, Director of the Museum.
The book about illustrated space thematic post cards from the Moscow Memorial Cosmonautic Museum to the A.S.Popov Central Museum of Communications.
The Seminar was organized in the frames of the International Letter Week. A special cancellation was organized at the Museum's Post Office.
The Russian Federal Agency of Communications issued a special brochure with the material of the Seminar.
