"Vostok-3”

Date of launch: August 11, 1962

Launch site: Baykonur Cosmodrome (USSR).

Launch vehicle: the "Vostok” rocket-carrier.

Launch crew: Commander – Andriyan NIKOLAEV (USSR)

Brief Summary: The first world group space flight of two manned spacecraft (together with the "Vostok-4” spacecraft). For the first time a cosmonaut unfastened seat belt and left his seat. During returning to Earth the cosmonaut catapulted out from the landing capsule and then descended and landed by parachute. The capsule descended and landed by parachute separately.

Landing crew: Commander - Andriyan NIKOLAEV (USSR)

Date of landing: August 15, 1962.

Place of landing: to the South from the city of Karaganda, Kazakhstan, USSR.
