Arian 5 rocket launch.

On October 28, 2010 at 21:51 UTC the Ariane 5 (V197) rocket-carrier with two telecommunications satellites was launched from French Kuru Cosmodrome of the Guiana Space Center on the northeast coast of South America.

The rocket delivered the W3B communications satellite and the BSAT 3b high-definition television broadcasting spacecraft to geostationary transfer orbit.

Progress M-08M launch.

On October 27, 2010 at 15:11 UTC the "Soyuz-U” rocket-carrier was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The rocket-carrier orbited the Progress M-08M unmanned supply spacecraft.

The spacecraft is to deliver more than 2.5 tons of cargoes, including oxygen, water, food and medical equipment, to the International Space Station.

FIP Astrophilately Section.

On October 27, 2010 in Vienna, Austria an informal meeting of the Chairman and the Secretary of the FIP Section of Astrophilately took place. Jaromir Matejka, Secretary and Igor Rodin, Chairman discussed different questions concerning Astrophilately. The possible activities of the Section concerning the 50th Anniversary of the first manned space flight of Yuri Gagarin were also discussed.
