The “Yuri Gagarin” is in orbit.

On April 4, 2011 at 22:18 UTC (on April 5 at 02:18 Moscow time) the "Yuri Gagarin” Soyuz TMA-21 Russian spacecraft was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome.

The spacecraft is piloted by 3 cosmonauts: Commander, Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Samokutyayev (center); flight-engineer, Russian cosmonaut Andrey Borisenko (right); flight-engineer, American astronaut Ronald Garan (left).

The space vehicle is to dock with the International Space Station on April 07 (late of night on April 6 by UTC).

Astro Seminar in China. Part 2.

On March 30, 2011 the 2nd part of the Astrophilately Seminar was held in the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (中國航天科技集團公司)(CASC).

Then the lecture titled "The History of the development of Soviet/Russian Space Mail” was held by Igor Rodin by using power point presentation. More than 50 illustrations with description were presented to the public.

HTV-2 deorbiting.

On March 30, 2011 Japan's HTV-2 Konotori unmanned supply spacecraft was deorbited. The cargo spaceship entered the atmosphere at about 03:09 UTC and the unburnt fragments fell into the Pacific Ocean 31 minutes later.

HTV-2 undocked from the ISS.

On March 28, 2011 at 15:45 UTC Japan's HTV-2 Konotori unmanned cargo spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station.

American astronaut Coleman and Italian flight-engineer Nespoli grappled the HTV with the station’s robot arm and methodically pulled the spacecraftfrom the space station's Harmony module. Coleman and Nespoli were at the controls of the robot arm inside the seven-window cupola module.

The space station crew issued a retreat command a few minutes later for the HTV to fly away from the space station. Two separation engine burns guided the ship on a safe trajectory departing the complex.

“MIR” deorbiting – 10 years ago.

10 year ago on March 23, 2001 the "Mir” orbital complex was deorbited. At that day the covers recorded the event were sent from the Post Office situated near the Russian Mission Control Centre. The deorbiting was controlled by the Russian Mission Control Centre situated in the town of Korolev, Moscow region.

The registered letter sent from Korolev on March 23, 2001 was autographed by 5 Russian cosmonauts who worked aboard the Russian "MIR” orbital complex. N.Budarin, V.Dezhurov, S.Zaletin, G.Padalka, V.Tsibliev.
