Astro meeting in Wien.

On March 27, 2014 Secretary of the FIP Section for Astrophilately Jaromir Matejka and Chairman of the Section Igor Rodin had a meeting in Wien. They discussed a number of questions for organization the Section’s meeting in the frames of Philakorea 2014 exhibition. Some other questions for the development of Astrophilately were also discussed.

Russia launched Soyuz TMA-12M manned spacecraft.

On March 25, 2014 at 21:17 UTC (on March 26 at 01:17 Moscow time) the Russian “Soyuz TMA-12M” spacecraft was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The space vehicle was orbited by the Russian “Soyuz-FG” rocket-carrier. The spacecraft is piloted by 3 cosmonauts: Commander, Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Skvortsov (center); flight-engineer, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev (right); American astronaut Steven Swanson (left).

Russia launched navigation satellite.

On March 23, 2014 at 22:54 UTC (March 24, at 02:54 Moscow time) the “Soyuz-2.1b” rocket-carrier was launched from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Arkhangelsk region, North Russia. The rocket equipped with the “Fregat” booster orbited “Glonass-M” navigation satellite.

Ariane rocket orbited two communications satellites.

On March 22, 2014 at 22:04 UTC the “Arian-5ECA” rocket-carrier was launched from Kourou Cosmodrome in French Guiana. The rocket orbited 2 telecommunications satellites: the Astra-5B and Amazonas-4A.
