China launched remote-sensing satellite.
On August 09, 2014 the “Long March – 4C” (“Changzheng-4C”) rocket-carrier was launched from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Jiuquan, Gansu Province, the northwest of China. The rocket orbited the “Yaogan-20” remote-sensing satellite. The satellite will be used to conduct scientific experiments, carry out land surveys, monitor crop yields and aid in preventing and reducing natural disasters.
