Iran successfully launched domestically-made Fajr satellite.

On February 02, 2015 at 09:30 UTC the “Saphir-2” (“Messenger-2”;  Persian -  سفير ۲‎) rocket-carrier was launched from Semnan Spaceport, Semnan Province of Iran. The launch site is situated in Dasht-e Kavir Desert (also known as Kavir-e Namak and the Great Salt Desert) is a large desert lying in the middle of the Iranian plateau. The rocket orbited the Iranian “Fajr” satellite. The satellite is capable of staying in the space for 1.5 years and can taking and transmitting high-quality and accurate pictures to stations on earth. Fajr satellite is technically characterized by an orbit which could promote from 250 to 450 kilometers through a thruster or an engine.
