Russia launched the Inmarsat-5 F-2 satellite.

On February 01, 2015 at 12:31 UTC the Russian "Proton-M” rocket-carrier was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The rocket equipped with the "Briz-M” booster orbited the “Inmarsat-5F2” telecommunication satellite.

Japan orbited a radar spy satellite.

On February 01, 2015 at 01:21 UTC the H-2A rocket-carrier was launched from Tanegashima Space Center in the southwestern Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The rocket orbited the IGS (Information Gathering Satellite) radar spy satellite. The IGS program consists of optical and radar imaging spacecraft. The satellites are constructed by Mitsubishi Electric and launched by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries using the H-I2A rocket.

US launched SMAP observatory.

On January 31, 2015 at 14:22 UTC the "Delta-2” rocket-carrier was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA. The launch was performed by United Launch Alliance supported by the 30th Space Wing of US Air Force. The rocket orbited the SMAP observatory. Soil Moisture Active Passive, or SMAP, is a NASA mission to produce a global map of the moisture content in the Earth’s soil.

In addition to SMAP, the launch carried four miniature satellites under NASA’s Educational Launch of Nanosatellites program: FIREBIRD-2A and  FIREBIRD-2B (Focused Investigations of Relativistic Electron Burst, Intensity, Range, and Dynamics); GRIFEX (GEO-CAPE ROIC In-Flight Performance Experiment); ExoCube.

US launched Navy communication satellite.

On January 21, 2015 at 01:04 UTC the “Atlas-5” rocket-carrier was launched from Cape Canaveral launch site of US Air Force. The launch was performed by United Launch Alliance supported by the 45th Space Wing of US Air Force. The rocket orbited MUOS F3 (Mobile User Objective Systems) telecommunication satellite. The MUOS 3 spacecraft is the heaviest payload to launch atop an Atlas 5 launch vehicle. It was the 200th Atlas-Centaur launch.

Dragon CRS-5 spacecraft docked to space station.

On January 12, 2015 at 13:56 UTC the private U.S. unmanned supply spacecraft, the Dragon (CRS-5 flight), was successfully docked to the International Space Station. The linkup operation was carried out by American astronauts Barry Wilmore with the help of the giant 17-meter Canadarm. The capture with Canadarm-2 occurred at 10:54 UTC. The Dragon spacecraft was maneuvered into position and attached to a berthing port on the space station's Harmony module. The unmanned spacecraft delivered about 2.6 tons of supplies for the space station crew and for experiments being conducted aboard the ISS.
