On March 19, 2017 at 00:18 UTC the “Delta-4M” rocket-carrier was launched from Cape Canaveral launch site of US Air Force. The launch was performed by United Launch Alliance supported by the 45th Space Wing of US Air Force. The rocket orbited the WGS-9 (Wideband Global Satcom 9) military communications satellite. This new satellite is unique because Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and New Zealand paid for construction of the WGS-9 satellite in a collaborative effort to join the U.S. military’s global communications network.
