Astronaut Dale Gardner passed away.
On February
19, 2014 American astronaut Dale Gardner, veteran of 2 Space Shuttle flights,
passed away. He was 65. He died from a sudden brain aneurysm. Gardner made
history becoming the last of six astronauts to use the manned maneuvering unit
(MMU) jetpack as he worked to return two malfunctioning satellites to Earth.

The 2nd space flight of Cygnus completed.
On February
19, 2014 at17:20 UTC the "Cygnus” unmanned supply spacecraft was deorbited. The
spacecraft re-entered the atmosphere and burned up over the South Pacific
Ocean.

Cygnus spacecraft was undocked from space station.
On February
18, 2014 the US "Cygnus” (CRS Orb-1 mission) unmanned supply spacecraft was
undocked from the International Space Station. The spacecraft, which had been
attached to the space station since January 12, was released by astronauts
aboard the station using the orbiting complex's huge robotic arm at 11:41 UTC.
It was the second flight of "Cygnus” to the ISS. CRS Orb-1 is the first of
eight contracted flights by Orbital Sciences under NASA's Commercial Resupply
Services (CRS) program.

New Nanosatellites launched from Space Station.
On February
14 and 15, 2014 several Nanosatellites were launched from the International
Space station. The Nanosatellites delivered to the ISS by the "Cygnus” unmanned
spacecraft were launched from the Japanese "Kibo” module of the ISS
The term
"nanosatellite" or "nanosat" is applied to an artificial
satellite with a wet mass between 1 and 10 kg.

Russian Proton rocket orbited Turkish satellite.
On February
14, 2014 at 21:09 UTC the "Proton-M” rocket-carrier was launched from Baykonur
Cosmodrome. The rocket equipped with the "Briz-M” booster orbited the Turkish "Turksat-4A”
telecommunications satellite. The satellite was made by Mitsubishi Electric
(Japan) . The satellite is belonged to Turksat Satellite Communication, Cable
TV and Operation A.S.

Nanosatellites launched from Space Station.
On February 11, 12 and 13, 2014 several Nanosatellites were launched
from the International Space station. The Nanosatellites delivered to the ISS
by the "Cygnus” unmanned spacecraft were launched from the Japanese "Kibo”
module of the ISS

Progress M-20M mission completed.
On February
11, 2014 at 15:06 UTC the "Progress M-20M” unmanned supply spacecraft’s engines
were started for deorbiting. Non-burnt fragments of the spacecraft sank in the
South part of the Pacific at 15:54 UTC.

Arian rocket orbited 2 satellites.
On February
06, 2014 at 21:30 UTC the Ariane-5ECA (VA-217) rocket- carrier was launched
from Kourou space center in French Guiana. The rocket orbited ABS-2 and ATHENA
FIDUS telecommunications satellites.
The ABS 2
spacecraft for Hong Kong-based Asia Broadcast Satellite was built by Space
Systems/Loral of Palo Alto, Calif., USA. The satellite will beam direct-to-home
television, multimedia and data transmission services across the Eastern
Hemisphere, reaching a geographic swath from Europe and Africa, across the
