China launched new weather satellite.
On September 23, 2013 at 03:07 UTC the "Long March-4C” rocket-carrier was launched from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, China. The rocket orbited the "Fengyun-III” meteorological satellite.

Private US Cygnus spacecraft delayed rendezvous with ISS.
On September 22, 2013 the US "Cygnus” unmanned supply spacecraft was to be docked with the International Space Station. But the rendezvous of the Cygnus cargo ship with the International Space Station (ISS) was delayed due to a computer data link glitch between them. The spacecraft was originally expected to be captured by a robotic arm operated by astronauts inside the space station. At around 05:30 UTC, the Cygnus established direct data contact with the ISS and found that some of the data received had values that it did not expect, causing Cygnus to reject the data. This mandated an interruption of the approach sequence.

New private spacecraft was launched to ISS on demo mission.
On September 18 at 10:58 UTC a new privately owned U.S. unmanned spacecraft was launched from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at Wallops Island off the U.S. east coast., Va., USA. The "Cygnus” unmanned supply spacecraft, built by U.S. space firm Orbital Sciences Corp., was orbited by the company's "Аntares” rocket-carrier on a demonstration mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
It is the first flight of the "Cygnus”, which carries about 590 kg of various supplies, and the second flight of the "Antares” rocket, which made a successful debut in April.
The goal of the mission is to demonstrate the capability of Orbital's cargo transportation system to deliver cargo to the space station.

Atlas 5 orbited U.S. Air Force satellite.
On September 18, 2013 at 08:10 UTC the "Atlas-5” rocket-carrier was launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., USA. The rocket orbited the Advanced Extremely High Frequency-3 (AEHF-3) communication satellite for the United States Air Force.

Japan launched a new Epsilon rocket.
On September 14, 2013 at 05:00 UTC the "Epsilon” rocket-carrier was launched from the Uchinoura Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan. It is a new type rocket designed to make launches cheaper and more efficient. The rocket orbited the "SPRINT-А" planet- observing satellite. The satellite also has a compact telescope to peer at Mars, Venus and Jupiter and study their response to blasts of solar wind.

From IPHLA 2012 to the ISS.
From IPHLA 2012 to the ISS.
 
First these 2 letters were cancelled in Mainz, Germany during the "IPHLA 2012” International Philatelic Literature Exhibition and were posted to Russia. Then the letters were delivered to the International Space Station by the Russian "Soyuz TMA-07M” spacecraft. Aboard the Station the letters were cancelled with all proper board cancellations, including the official board post mark dated December 21, 2012, the day when the "Soyuz TMA-07M” spacecraft docked with the International Space Station.

Russia orbited 3 telecoms satellites.
On September 11, 2013 at 23:23 UTC (on September 12 at 03:23 Moscow time) the Russian "Rockot” rocket-carrier was launched by the units of Russian Aerospace Defence Forces from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, North of Russia. The rocket orbited three "Gonets-M” communications satellites. Gonets means a messenger in Russian.
The light-class "Rokot” rocket-carrier is a modified version of the Russian RS-18 (SS-19 Stiletto) intercontinental ballistic missile. It uses the two original lower stages of the ICBM, in conjunction with an upper-stage block containing the Briz-KM booster and space-bound payloads.
The Gonets-M satellites will be part of Russia’s low-orbit grouping of telecoms satellites designed to provide communications services for remote areas of Russia.

Russian Soyuz TMA-08M spacecraft landed.
On September 11, 2013 at 02:58 UTC the Russian "Soyuz TMA-08M” landing capsule landed safely in a remote area near the town of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.

The spacecraft delivered to Earth the 3 members of ISS’s Expedition 36 – Russian cosmonauts Pavel Vinogradov (center) and Alexander Misurkin (right) as well as American astronaut Christopher Cassidy (left).
They spent in space 166 days, 06 hours, 15 minutes.
Three other ISS crew members – Russian cosmonaut Fjodor Yurchikhin, Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano and American astronaut Karen Nyberg - remained in orbit aboard the International Space Station as the Expedition 37 crew.

Russian Soyuz TMA-08M undocked from ISS.
On September 10, 2013 at 23:35 UTC (on September 11 at 03:35 Moscow time) the Russian "Soyuz TMA-08M” spacecraft undocked from the Russian "Poisk” ("Search”) module of the International Space Station to deliver to Earth the 3 members of Expedition 36 –Russian cosmonauts Pavel Vinogradov and Alexander Misurkin as well as American astronaut Christopher Cassidy.

Japanese HTV-4 cargo ends its flight.
On September 07, 2013 the Japanese HTV "Kounotori-4” unmanned supply spacecraft was deorbited. Following its departure from the International Space Station on September 04, the HTV-4 spent two and a half days in free flight, performing a number of altitude reduction maneuvers to set up for re-entry. This burn began at 6:11 UTC and slowed HTV down just enough to enable it to intercept Earth’s atmosphere at a pre-planned location above the Pacific.
