On June 04, 2010 at 18:45 UTC the Falcon-9 rocket-carrier was launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida, USA.

The rocket orbited the model of the Dragon space vehicle. The Dragon vehicle will deliver astronauts and cargo if the test runs are successful. The launch was performed by the SpaceX company.

Arabsat-5 satellite launch.
On June 03, 2010 at 22:00 UTC the Arabsat-5 telecommunication satellite was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The satellite was orbited by the Russian Proton-M launch vehicle powered by the Breeze-M upper stage.
The launch was carried out under a contract between the International Launch Services (ILS) and ARABSAT satellite operator. ILS, owned by the Russain Khrunichev Space Center, the Russian "Energy” Space Corporation and the U.S. Space Transport Inc., provides spacecraft launch services for Proton-M heavy rocket-carriers.

China launched a satellite.
On June 2, 2010 at 15:33 UTC China successfully launched its fourth orbiter into space, as a part of its indigenous satellite navigation and positioning network known as Beidou, or Compass system.
The satellite was launched by the Long March 3III (Chang Zheng-3C) rocket-carrier.
It will join another three satellites in orbit to form a network that will eventually consist of 35 satellites.
According to the plan, the system will provide navigation, time and short message services in the Asia and Pacific region around 2012. It will be capable of providing global navigation services by 2020.
China started to build up its own satellite navigation system to break its dependence on the U.S.

Japan Satellite launch.
On June 2, 2010 at 01:59 UTC the Russian "Rockot” rocket-carrier was launched from Russian Plesetsk Cosmodrome to orbit the Japan SERVIS-2 satellite.

SERVIS-2 is an acronym for the second spacecraft in the "Space Environment Reliability Verification Integrated System" program conducted by USEF under a contract from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Soyuz TMA-17 landing.
On June 2, 2010 at 03:24 UTC the Russian "Soyuz TMA-17” recovery capsule landed on the territory of Kazakhstan in a distance of 148 kilometers to South-East from the city of Dzhezkazgan.
Soyuz TMA-17 Commander, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kotov; flight-engineer, American astronaut Timothy Creamer and flight-engineer, Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi returned to Earth after performing their mission aboard the ISS.
They spent in space 163 days, 5 hours and 32 minutes. |

On June 2, 2010 at 00:04 UTC the "Soyuz TMA-17” spacecraft undocked from the ISS. There are 3 cosmonauts aboard the spacecraft: Commander, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kotov; flight-engineer, American astronaut Timothy Creamer and flight-engineer, Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi.

GPS 2F-1 satellite launch.
On May 28, 2010 at 03:00 UTC the Delta 4 rocket-carrier was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. The rocket orbited the GPS 2F-1 navigation satellite. The American satellite will be used for national security and navigation. It's the first of a new generation of Global Positioning System satellites going into orbit. A dozen such Boeing-built satellites will be launched over the next several years to replace 20-year-old satellites now in service.

Atlantis (STS-132) landing.
On May 26, 2010 at 11:42 UTC the space shuttle "Atlantis” (STS-132 flight) with a crew of six landed at runway 15, Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, USA.
Atlantis delivered the Russian "Rassvet” (MRM-1) research module and spare parts to the International Space Station . During the 12-day mission, the astronauts made three spacewalks and replaced some equipment, including batteries.
Six astronauts returned to Earth: Kenneth Ham, Dominic Antonnelli, Garrett Reisman, Michael Good, Stephen Bowen and Piers Sellers.
They spent in space 11 days, 18 hours, 28 minutes and 2 seconds.

STS-132 / ISS undocking.
On May 23, 2010 the American Space Shuttle "Atlantis” (STS-132 flight) undocked from the ISS at 15:22 UTC.
Atlantis spent 7 days, 0 hrs, and 54 minutes docked to the orbiting laboratory.
Pilot Tony Antonelli flew the shuttle one lap around the station to document its new configuration that includes the Rassvet module the STS-132 mission delivered. Atlantis' other crew members took photos of the station.
