On March 23, 2012 at 04:34 UTC the "Ariane-5ES” rocket-carrier was launched from Kourou spaceport in French Guiana. The rocket orbited the European ATV-3 (Automated Transfer Vehicle) unmanned supply spacecraft named "Edoardo Amaldi”.
Edoardo Amaldi (5 September 1908 – 5 December 1989) was an Italian physicist.
The spacecraft will deliver fresh food, spare parts, propellant, water and breathing air for the six-person crew of the International Space Station (ISS). ATV-3 is to dock with the ISS at 22:51 UTC on March 28. Attachments: |
