On June 25. 2021, at 19:50 UTC the “Soyuz-2.1b” rocket-carrier was launched from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Arkhangelsk region, North Russia. The launch was performed by Russian Aerospace Defence Forces. The rocket orbited the first of a new type of ship-locating radar imaging satellite. The new satellite was officially designated “Kosmos-2550”. Russia uses the Kosmos name for its military satellites.
