Russian rocket launched from Kourou Cosmodrome.

On December 2, 2012 at 02:02 UTC the Russian "Soyuz-ST-A” rocket-carrier was launched from Kourou launch site in French Guiana. The rocket equipped with the "Fregat-MT” booster orbited the "Pleiades 1B” Europe’s dual-purpose observation satellite. The satellite will collect high-resolution imagery of objects as small as 0.5 meters. The satellite, which took the French Space Agency (CNES) nearly a decade to develop, will be used by the French military, other European governments and commercial customers.
