The "BULGARIA 2009” European Philatelic Exhibition was held in Sofia since 27 May till 31 May 2009. The Exhibition was organized on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of communications and postal stamps in Bulgaria.
The event took place under the honorable patronage of Mr. Georgi Paravanov, President of Republic of Bulgaria.

The Exhibition took place at the National Palace of Culture.
The International Seminar on Astrophilately was held in the frames of the Exhibition on 29 May. FIP President Mr. Jos Wolff and FIP Secretary General Mrs. Andrée Trommer took part in the Seminar. The Seminar was opened by Mr. Igor Rodin, Chairman of the FIP Section of Astrophilately. Having welcomed the participants, Igor Rodin presented his report "Bulgaria and Space Mail” which was accompanied with a computer presentation. Then the participants were offered to see a computer presentation titled "Space Mail and the International Space Station”. This presentation was made by Igor Rodin and Sergey Rodin. The main report was prepared and made by Mr. Miri Matejka, Secretary of the FIP Section of Astrophilately. Mr.Matejka told in details about appropriate material for Astrophilatelic exhibits. His report was based on his exhibit "Race in Space” and was accompanied with computer presentation.
