Rossica 2014
The “Rossica 2014” International Philatelic exhibition was held in Moscow since October 27 till October 29, 2014. The Openning Ceremony took place at the building of the Federation Council (the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, the parliament of the Russian Federation).
Mr. Aleksander Torshin, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council opened the Exhibition.
“Rossica 2014” was organized jointly by the Russian National Academy of Philately together with the Senatorial Club of the Federation Council. Patronage was granted to “Rossica 2014” by the European Academy of Philately (AEP) and the International Association of Philatelic Journalists (AIJP).

Russian artist Georgi Shishkin, the author of about 20 Monaco’s postage stamps, took part in the exhibition.

The 137 literature exhibits were kindly hosted at the “Biblio-Globus”, a well-known great Bookshop of Moscow the President and General Director of which Mr. Boris ESENKIN offered to the Jury team an outstanding hospitality.

The literature exhibits were demonstrated at the “Biblio-Globus” bookshop.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s third cousin (Cousin dritten Grades; cousin au troisième degré) Mr. Alexander Putin took part in a number of the exhibition’s event. He is an author of the book titled “The genealogy of President V.Putin”. Mr. Alexander Putin together with the “Biblio-Globus” bookshop presented the book to a number of the exhibitors and the Jury members.

Awarding Ceremony took place at the architectural studio of Mr. Sergey TKACHENKO. The ceremony was conducted by Mr. Andrey Strygin, President of the Russian National Academy of Philately and general coordinator of the exhibition.

The Closing Ceremony also took place at the building of the Federation Council (the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, the parliament of the Russian Federation).
Mr. Aleksander Torshin, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council handed in Large Gold and Gold awards to the exhibitors. He also awarded the Jury members with the Diplomas.

During the Closing of the Exhibition, the Ceremony of the memorable cancellation of the postal stationery (envelope) devoted to the 150th anniversary of Russian Zemstvo Post was conducted by Mr. Aleksander Torshin and Mr. Artem Adibekov, General Director of the “Marka” publishing and Trading Center (the official organization of the Russian Federal Communication Agency which issues all official Russian philatelic material).
