On August 11, 2009 at 23:47 Moscow time, Proton-M rocket with Breeze-M upper stage successfully lifted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome to orbit AsiaSat-5 satellite. AsiaSat-5 which belongs to Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat) is to replace AsiaSat-2 in orbital position 100.5 deg. AsiaSat-5 will provide communication services for Asia and Pacific region.
