On November 26, 2010 at 18:39 UTC the Ariane-5ECA (V198) rocket-carrier was launched from French Kuru Cosmodrome of the Guiana Space Center on the northeast coast of South America.
The rocket-carrier orbited two telecommunications satellites: Intelsat IS-17 and Hylas 1.
The Intelsat 17 (5500 kilograms) satellite was built by Space Systems/Loral and will deliver a wide range of communications services for Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India.
Hylas 1 (2570 kilograms) belongs to Avanti Communications, British company. Designed and built by EADS Astrium in partnership with the Indian Space Research Organization, HYLAS 1 is to bring high-speed broadband services to remote rural areas across Europe.
