Russian-Ukrainian rocket orbited a satellite.
On October 05, 2011 at 21:00 UTC (on October 6 at 01:00 Moscow time) the Russian-Ukrainian "Zenit-2SB” rocket-carrier equipped with the DM-SLB booster was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The rocket orbited the U.S. "Intelsat-18” telecommunication satellite.
The Intelsat-18 satellite will provide telecommunication services to customers in East Asia, U.S. West Coast and the Pacific Region. Intelsat Ltd. operates the world's most extensive satellite network, comprising over 50 satellites.
The Zenit-2, a medium-lift two-stage rocket, is produced by the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. Its DM-SLB stage is made by Russian "Energy” Space Corporation.
