China launched a remote-sensing satellite.
On May 29, 2012 at 07:31 UTC the "Chang Zheng-4C” (Long March 4C) rocket-carrier was launched from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi province, China. The rocket orbited the "Yaogan Weixing-15” remote-sensing satellite.
The satellite will be used to conduct scientific experiments, carry out land surveys, monitor crop yields and aid in reducing and preventing natural disasters.
The Long March 4C rocket was produced by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. This launch marked the 164th mission for the Long March rocket family.
