Russian rocket with US satellite was launched from the Pacific.
On August 19, 2012 at 06:54 UTC the "Zenit-3SL” rocket-carrier equipped with the "DM-SL” booster was launched from the launch pad Odyssey in the Pacific Ocean by the Sea Launch company.
The rocket orbited the US "Intelsat-21” telecoms satellite.
The 5,980 kilogram "Intelsat 21” is a geostationary communication satellite built by Space Systems Loral. The satellite will provide telecomunication services to high-growth markets around the Pacific including Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and U.S. West Coast.
