On November 13, 2014 Russian Post issued a postage stamp devoted to the 100th birthday Anniversary of Georgy Nikolayevich BABAKIN, a Soviet engineer working in the space program. He was Chief Designer at the Lavochkin Design Bureau from 1965 until his death. Babakin's "NPO Lavochkin" brought improved engineering, testing and systems management, generating a series of successes — the first soft landing on the Moon by the “Luna-9”, the first probe of the Venusian atmosphere by “Venera-4”. The stamp depicts a portrait showing Georgy Babakin and the “Luna-17” robotic spacecraft.
The size of stamp is 42х30 millimeters.
