US launched military surveillance satellite.

On August 26, 2017 at 06:04 UTC the " Minotaur-4” rocket-carrier was launched from LC-46 of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. The rocket orbited the ORS-5 military satellite tracking craft to help the Air Force track threats and debris in orbit. This was the first Minotaur launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

US launched Taiwan’s satellite.

On August 24, 2017 at 18:50 UTC the "Falcon 9” rocket-carrier was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA. The rocket orbited Taiwan’s “Formosat-5” Earth observation satellite for Taiwan’s National Space Organization. The “Formosat-5” is the first major space mission fully designed, manufactured and tested in Taiwan.

Japan launched navigation satellite.

On August 19, 2017 at 05:29 UTC the Japanese H-2A rocket was launched from Tanegashima Cosmodrome situated at the island located 115 km south of Kyushu. Kyushu is the third largest island of Japan and most southwesterly of its four main islands. The rocket orbited the “Michibiki” navigation satellite.
