On October 18, 2009 at 16:12 UTC an Atlas 5 rocket-carrier with the DMSP Block 5D-3 F-18 satellite aboard was launched from California's Vandenberg Air Force Base. The Defense Meteorological Satellite Program F18 satellite was made by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space Co.
