On November 27, 2012 at 10:13 UTC the "Chang Zheng-3B” (Long March) rocket-carrier was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, southwest China's Sichuan Province. The rocket orbited the " Chinasat-12" communication satellite. It is a Chinese-owned, European-built telecommunications satellite to serve customers in a swath of the Asia-Pacific with television broadcasting, broadband multimedia and data transmission services. The Chinasat 12 was built by Thales Alenia Space of France.
