China launched a Pakistan’s satellite.
14:33
On August 11, 2011 the "Chang Zheng-3B” (Long March-3B) rocket-carrier was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The rocket orbited the "Paksat-1R” communications satellite for Pakistan.
PakSat-1R will provide communications and broadcasting services to Pakistan and neighboring regions for at least 15 years. The satellite was built by the China Academy of Space Technology.
China and Pakistan share a long history of space technology cooperation. Pakistan's first low-orbit satellite, BADR-A, was launched by China in 1990 with Long March 2E rocket.
