China launched an experimental satellite.

On July 29, 2011 at 07:42 UTC (15:42 local time) the "Long March II-C” rocket-carrier was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gansu Province. The rocket orbited the "Shijian-11-02” satellite. The orbiter, developed by China Space Co., Ltd. under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, will be used to conduct scientific experiments in space.
