On December 01, 2013 at 17:30 UTC the "Long March – 3B” ("Changzheng-3B”) rocket-carrier was launched from the Xichang Launch Center in southern China's Sichuan province. The rocket orbited the "Chang'e-3” lunar probe with its first moon rover "Yutu" (Jade Rabbit) aboard. It is the first time for China to send a spacecraft to soft land on the surface of an extraterrestrial body, where it will conduct surveys on the moon.
