China launched military observation satellite.
14:50

On April 30, 2021, at 07:27 the “Long March –4C” (“Changzheng-4C”) rocket-carrier was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Jiuquan, Gansu Province, the northwest of China. The rocket orbited the Yaogan-34 military observation satellite. China’s Xinhua news agency said that the Yaogan-34 was an optical remote sensing satellite that “will be used for the survey of land resources, urban planning, the confirmation of land rights, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and reduction.” The Earth observation satellite also has a military purpose. China uses the Yaogan name as a cover for military spy satellites.
