On December 21, 2018, at 23:51 UTC (on December 22, at 07:51 Beijing time) the “Long March – 11” (“Changzheng-11”) rocket-carrier was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Jiuquan, Gansu Province, the northwest of China. The rocket orbited the “Hongyun” test satellite for a planned fleet of orbiting relay platforms beaming broadband Internet services down to Earth. Chinese broadband network, named “Hongyun”, is to consist of 156 satellites.
