On July 4, 2021 Chinese cosmonauts Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo performed the spacewalk to test new-generation Chinese-built spacesuits, to install foot restraints and a work platform on the space station’s robotic arm and to mount a panoramic camera outside the complex. The EVA lasted 6 hours and 46 minutes. It was the 2nd spacewalk for Liu Boming and the 1st spacewalk for Tang Hongbo. The spacewalk was the second extravehicular activity in the history of China’s space program, following a 22-minute spacewalk on the “Shenzhou-7” mission in 2008. Attachments: |
