On January 31, 2018 Ukrainian cosmonaut Leonid Kadeniuk passed away. He was 67. The former test-pilot of Soviet Union’s Air Force and a not-flown soviet cosmonaut, he became the first cosmonaut of independent Ukraine. He flew on NASA's Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997 as part of the international mission STS-87.
