On June 1, 2017, the Russian Federal Communications Agency issued a postage stamp devoted to the 100th anniversary of the “Izvestia” newspaper. Izvestia is a high-circulation daily broadsheet newspaper in Russia. The word izvestiya in Russian means "delivered messages". In the context of newspaper, it is usually translated as "news" or "reports". The postage stamp depicts the anniversary logo of the “Izvestia” newspaper and the first pages of the publication illustrating the bright moments of the history of Russia, including the issue of 12 April 1961 with the photo of Yuri Gagarin (the left side of the postage stamp).
The size of stamp is 65х32,5 millimeters. The stamp is printed by sheets of 8 (2х4) stamps. Total edition is 192 000 stamps (24 000 sheets). Attachments: |
