On May 22, 2019 at 00:00 UTC, the PSLV-CA rocket-carrier was launched from Satish Dhawan (Sriharikota) spaceport, 80 km from Chennai, India. The rocket (PSLV - Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) orbited RISAT-2B (Radar Imaging Satellite-2B). It is a high-power radar imaging satellite designed to peer through clouds and darkness to resolve signs of pollution, natural disasters and foreign military movements.
