These twin postage stamp and card of Åland were presented by Swedish musician and ABBA superstar Björn Ulvaeus. The items were issued by Åland post in 2016. ÅLANDSPOSTEN magazine says: “BJÖRN ULVAEUS was proud and honoured to be asked to design a stamp featuring his personal image of Åland. He is familiar with Åland, having played here with his first band the Hootenanny Singers as early as the 1960s. Lately, he has visited Åland by yacht and, therefore, an image featuring the Åland archipelago was his obvious choice for a stamp motif. Kökar is one of the locations that have made an impression on Björn. The stamp shows the picturesque approach to Brudhäll guest harbour and Karlby village in the morning haze”.
This Åland post card was postmarked at the “Finlandia-2017” FEPA exhibition in Tampere and addressed to the crew of the International Space station (ISS). Being delivered to Russia, the card was handed over to the crew of the Russian "Soyuz MS-05” spacecraft to be delivered to the ISS. Then the card was delivered to the ISS. To document the delivery, on board the station the card was marked with board seals including the Russian official “Russian Post. ISS. Russian Segment” round board post mark dated July 29, 2017, the day when the “Soyuz MS-05” spacecraft docked with the ISS.
