On April 18, 2014 the “Progress M-22M” unmanned supply spacecraft were deorbiting. Non-burnt fragments of the spacecraft sank in the South part of the Pacific at 15:46 UTC. Since April 7, 2014 the spacecraft was in a controlled autonomous flight to conduct a scientific experiment "Radar-Progress”. The purpose of the experiment was to determine the spatial and temporal dependence of the density, temperature, ionic composition of local inhomogeneities in the ionosphere resulting from the on-board liquid rocket engines.
