On September 28, 2017 at 18:52 UTC the Russian "Proton-M” rocket-carrier equipped with the “BRIZ-M” booster was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The rocket orbited the U.S. " Asiasat-9” telecommunication satellite. International Launch Services, the company managing the launch of AsiaSat-9, declared the mission a success after the Proton’s Breeze M upper stage deployed its satellite passenger into a high-altitude orbit around nine hours after liftoff.
