Russia orbited the “Chibis” microsatellite

On January 24, 2012 at 23:18 UTC the "Chibis” microsatellite was separated from the Russian "Progress M-13M” unmanned spacecraft. The microsatellite weighs about 40 kilograms and carries some 12 kilograms of scientific equipment. The microsatellite, developed at the Institute of Space Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was delivered to the ISS on November 2, 2011. The "Chibis-M” will remain in orbit for at least 2 years studying lightnings and thunderstorms in the Earth's atmosphere.
