On March 19, 2013 at 21:21 UTC the "Atlas 5” rocket-carrier was launched from Cape Canaveral launch site of US Air Force. The launch was performed by United Launch Alliance supported by the 45th Space Wing of US Air Force. The rocket orbited the SBIRS (Space-Based Infrared System) GEO-2 satellite for the Pentagon. This spacecraft will provide next-generation missile warning, missile defense and battlespace characterization for the next two to three decades.
