Soyuz – Apollo. The 35th Anniversary.

35 years ago on July 15, Soyuz-19 and Apollo space vehicles were launched to perform the First Soviet-American joint space flight.
On July 17, 1975 the 2 spacecraft performed a successful docking. Tow Soviet cosmonauts and three American astronauts met in orbit.

Five satellites were orbited by India.
On July 12, 2010 at 03:52 UTC the PSLV С-15 (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) rocket-carrier was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center on India’s Sriharikota island in the Bay of Bengal.
The four-stage rocket-carrier orbited 5 satellites.
The mission's primary payload is the Indian Cartosat 2B satellite. The 694 kilogram satellite has a black-and-white camera with the resolution of 0.8 meters giving users close views of cities, neighborhoods, natural resources and military sites around the world. The imagery will have applications in resource mapping, urban planning, transportation studies, water monitoring, and crop inventories.

An American satellite launched by Russian rocket.
On July 10, 2010 at 18:40 UTC the Russian "Proton-M” rocket-carrier was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome to orbit the American "EchoStar-15” satellite.
EchoStar-15 produced by Space Systems Loral is a new direct broadcast satellite (DBS). EchoStar-15 will provide expanded services and flexibility for the "DISH Network” TV company which has about 14 million television subscribers.

Progress M-06M / ISS docking.
On July 04, 2010 at 16:17 UTC the Progress M-06M unmanned supply spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station, the Zvezda module.
The Progress delivered about 2600 kilograms of cargo to the station, including propellant, food, oxygen, scientific equipment, crew parcels, etc.
The docking process failed two days earlier, on Friday on July 02.
Progress M-06M is the 40th cargo vehicle of this type arriving at the station.

Progress M-06M launch.
On June 30, 2010 at 15:35 UTC the Russian Progress M-06M unmanned supply spacecraft was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome.

The space vehicle is to deliver about 2500 kg of supplies to the International Space Station. The Progress M-06M is to dock with the ISS on July 2, 2010.

Soyuz TMA-19 redocking.
On June 28, 2010 the Soyuz TMA-19 spacecraft was redocked from the Zvezda module to the Rassvet module.
The operation was carried out manually by Soyuz commander, Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin. During the redocking the crew also consisted of American astronauts Shannon Walker and Douglas Wheelock.

Ariane 5 launches Arab and South Korean satellites.
On June 26, 2010 at 21:41 UTC France successfully launched the Ariane 5 rocket-carrier from the Guiana Space Center in Kourou on the northeastern coast of South America (at 06:41 pm in Kourou local time). Ariane Flight V195.
The rocket-carrier orbited the Arabsat 5A satellite and the South Korea satellite - COMS (the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite).
The Arabsat group, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, operates a cluster of orbiting satellites to reach millions of homes in over 100 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia, relaying hundreds of television channels and radio stations.

Israel launched a spy satellite.
On June 22, 2010 at about 19:00 UTC Israel successfully launched a top secret spy satellite into low Earth orbit from the Palmachim air base along the Mediterranean coast.
Palmachim air base is situated in about 15 miles south of downtown Tel Aviv.
The Shavit rocket-carrier orbited the Ofeq 9 spy satellite. A press release from the Israeli Defense Ministry offered no details on the spacecraft, except that Ofeq 9 is an "advanced remote sensing satellite."

German satellite launch.
On June 21, 2010 at 02:14 UTC the Russian RS-20 (Dnepr version) rocket-carrier was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome.
A converted Russian intercontinental ballistic missile took the German TanDEM-X satellite into orbit.
It was the 16th launch of an international satellite under the Dnepr program involving Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, which converts RS-20 intercontinental ballistic missiles (classified by NATO as the SS-18 Satan) into carrier rockets to put satellites into low Earth orbit.
