Dragon splashed down.
On October 28 at 19:22 UTC the "Dragon” unmanned supply spacecraft splashed down in the Pacific Ocean in a distance of about 400 kilometers from California seaside. The commercial capsule built by SpaceX delivered to Earth nearly one ton of precious experiment samples and other gear from the International Space Station.

“Dragon” departed space station for Earth.
On October 28, 2012 the "Dragon” unmanned supply spacecraft was undocked from the International Space Station. American astronaut Sunita Williams and Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoshide undocked the spacecraft from the station by using the "Canadarm-2” robotic system at 13:27 UTC.
The "Dragon” will deliver scientific samples and a variety of equipment to Earth.
The California-based SpaceX company will steer its unmanned capsule to a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean, a couple hundred miles off the Baja California coast.

China launched navigation satellite.
On October 25, 2012 at 15:33 UTC the Chang Zheng-3C (Long March-3C) rocket-carrier was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The rocket orbited the "Beidou-16” (Compass) navigation satellites for China’s indigenous global navigation and positioning network.

Russian Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft docked to the ISS.
On October 25, 2012 at 12:29 UTC the "Soyuz TMA-06M” spacecraft docked with the Russian "Poisk” module of the International Space Station.
The Soyuz TMA-06M delivered three new members of Expedition 33 to the ISS, Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitskiy and Evgeny Tarelkin as well as American astronaut Kevin Ford.
The hatches between the spacecraft and the station were opened at 15:04 UTC.
The new comers joined current ISS expedition members - Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko, American astronaut Sunita Williams and Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoshide to form Expedition 33 crew of 6 members.
This is the first mission for Novitsky and Tarelkin, while Ford flew to the ISS on board a US Space Shuttle in 2009.

Russia launched Soyuz TMA-06M manned spacecraft.
On October 23, 2012 at 10:51 UTC the Russian "Soyuz TMA-06M” spacecraft was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The space vehicle was orbited by the Russian "Soyuz-FG” rocket-carrier.
The spacecraft is piloted by 3 cosmonauts: Commander, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitskiy (center); flight-engineer-1, Russian cosmonaut Evgeny Tarelkin (right); flight-engineer-2, American astronaut Kevin Ford (left).

Magazine of European Academy of Philately in Moscow.
On October 15, 2012 Russian National Academy of Philately presented OPUS XII yearly magazine of AEP (European Academy of Philately) in Veresov Gallery, Moscow. 
The Honorary guest of this event was Mr. Andrey Denisov, the first Deputy of Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Chairman of FIP Section for Astrophilately, Igor Rodin also took part at this event. Taking a chance, Igor Rodin told Mr. Andrey Denisov about the activities of FIP Section for Astrophilately.

Astrophilately in Rome.
On October 13, 2012 in Rome the General Assembly of AEP (European Academy of Philately) was held in the frames of the "Romafil 2012” Italian national exhibition.
Igor Rodin, Chairman of the FIP Section for Astrophilately, took part at the event. He had a number of meetings where he told about the activities of FIP Astrophilately Section.

Russia launched Proton-M rocket with U.S. satellite.
On October 14, 2012 at 08:36 UTC the "Proton-M” rocket-carrier was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The rocket equipped with the "Briz-M” booster orbited the U.S. "Intelsat-23” telecommunication satellite.
The satellite with a designed life-span of 15 years will provide telecommunications services to customers in North America, Latin America, Western Europe and Africa.

China launched civilian technology satellites.
On October 14, 2012 at 03:25 UTC the "Chang Zheng-2C/SMA” (Long March) rocket-carrier was launched from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi Province, China.
The rocket orbited the "Shijian-9 A” and "Shijian-9 B”. Shijian means Practice in Chinese.
The satellites are the first in a series of civilian satellites designed for technological experimentation.
Developed by an affiliate company of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the satellites will be used to experiment with domestically developed components, satellite formations and inter-satellite measurement.
