 China launched a probe to Moon.
On October 01, 2010 at 10:59 UTC the Chang Zheng-3C (Long March 3C) rocket-carrier with the Chang'e 2 space vehicle was launched form Launch Pad No. 2 of the Xichang space center in southwestern Sichuan province, China.
Chang'e 2 began a five-day journey to the moon, where it will enter orbit about 60 miles above the surface.
The probe is designed to observe the moon for at least six months, but it carries enough fuel to operate much longer. Its closest approach to the moon will be at an altitude of just 15 kilometers, or about 9 miles, according to China. Chang'e 2 will map candidate landing sites for the next mission in China's lunar program, which targets a robotic touchdown on the moon after launch in 2013. Russian military satellite launch.
On September 30, 2010 at 17:01 UTC the "Molniya-M” rocket-carrier was launched from Russian Plesetsk Cosmodrome. The rocket orbited the "Kosmos-2469” military satellite. It was the last launch of a "Molniya-M” rocket-carrier.

USA launched SBSS-1 satellite.
On September 26, 2010 at 04:41 UTC (September 25 at 09:41 p.m. Pacific time) the Minotaur-4 rocket-carrier with the SBSS-1 (Space-Based Space Surveillance) satellite was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, the central California coast, USA. The satellite was designed to detect and monitor debris, satellites and other space objects that could be a threat to national security, communications and weather satellites. The satellite was built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corporation. Minotaur launch vehicles are built by Orbital Sciences Corporation, using rocket motors from decommissioned Peacekeeper intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Soyuz TMA-18 – Landing.
On September 25, 2010 at 05:22 UTC the Soyuz TMA-18 capsule with the crew – Alexander Skvortsov, Mikhail Kornienko, Tracy Caldwell Dyson, landed successfully at a distance of 35 km from the city of Arkalyk, Kazakhstan.

Health status of the crew was fine. All descent operations were nominal.

Soyuz TMA-18 undocking.
On September 25, 2010 at 02:02 UTC the Soyuz TMA-18 spacecraft with the crew – Alexander Skvortsov, Mikhail Kornienko, Tracy Caldwell Dyson successfully undocked from the ISS.

Undocking of Soyuz TMA-18 postponed.
On September 24, 2010 the departure of the Russian Soyuz TMA-18 spaceship from the International Space Station was delayed for technical reasons and will be postponed until September 25.
The undocking was to be performed at 01:39 UTC on September 24, 2010.
Russian cosmonauts Aleksander Skvortsov and Mikhail Korniyenko and NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell-Dyson, who were travelling on board the space ship, returned back to the ISS. |
China launched a military satellite.
On September 22, 2010 at 02:42 UTC the Chang Zheng-2D (Long March) rocket-carrier was launched from the Jiuquan space center in the desert of northwestern China. It was 10:42 a.m. Beijing time.
The rocket-carrier orbited the Yaogan XI reconnaissance satellite. The rocket also orbited 2 other micro-satellites - Pixing 1A-1 and Pixing 1A-2.

The US spy satellite launch.
On September 21, 2010 at 04:03 UTC the "Atlas 5” rocket-carrier was launched from the Space Launch Complex 3-East pad at Vandenberg Air Force Base, USA.
The rocket-carrier orbited the NROL-41 (National Reconnaisance Office Launch) satellite. The launch was performed by United Launch Alliance.
The satellite belongs to the National Reconnaissance Office, the agency responsible for designing and operating the country's fleet of intelligence-gathering satellites.
The NRO is marking its 50th year as America's eyes and ears in space to collect imagery and information.

Progress M-07M Successfully docked to the ISS.
On September 12, 2010 at 11:57 UTC the Progress M-07M unmanned supply spacecraft successfully docked to the ISS.
The vehicle is now attached to the Russian "Zvezda” (Star) instrumentation compartment (module). The spacecraft delivered about 2.5 t of cargo to the station, including propellant, food and water, personal crew parcels, scientific hardware for many Russian biotechnological experiments.
The personal letters addressed to the cosmonauts from their families and friends were also delivered by the Progress M-07M to the station. |

On September 10, 2010 at 10:22 UTC the Progress M-07M unmanned supply spacecraft was launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome.
The spacecraft is to deliver more than 2.5 tons of cargoes, including oxygen, water, food and medical equipment, to the International Space Station. |
