On
September 11, 2024 at 16:23 UTC the Russian “Soyuz MS-26” spacecraft was
launched from Baykonur Cosmodrome. The space vehicle was orbited by the Russian
“Soyuz-2.1a” rocket-carrier. The spacecraft is piloted by 3 cosmonauts:
Commander, Russian cosmonaut Aleksey Ovchinin (center); flight-engineer 1,
Russian cosmonaut Ivan Vagner (right); flight-engineer 2, US astronaut Donald

Polaris Dawn crew performed spacewalk.
On September
12, 2024 Jared Isaacman and Sarah Gillis performed the first commercial
spacewalk ever (1 hour and 46 minutes). They stepped out of the Crew Dragon one
after the other for about 20 minutes. They remain secured via foot straps that
are attached to a kind of ladder at the other end. In contrast to external
missions on the ISS space station, they are not supplied with breathing air via
a backpack, but via a hose from the spacecraft.

US launched Crew Dragon (Polaris Dawn mission) spacecraft.
On September
10, 2024 at 09:23 UTC the American SpaceX’s Crew Dragon “Resilience” (Polaris
Dawn mission) spacecraft was launched from Kennedy Space Center (LC39A),
Florida, USA. The space vehicle was orbited by the “Falcon-9FT” rocket-carrier.
Polaris Dawn was a private crewed spaceflight operated by SpaceX on behalf of
Shift4 CEO Jared Isaacman. 
The
spacecraft’s crew consists of 4 members – spacecraft commander Jared Isaacman

Russian “Progress MS-28” spacecraft docked to Space Station.
On August
17, 2024 at 05:53 UTC, the Russian “Progress MS-28” unmanned supply spacecraft
docked to the International Space Station. The spacecraft was docked to the
Russian “Zvezda” module. The spacecraft delivered about 2500 kilograms of cargo
for the ISS crew.

On August
13, 2024 at 02:00 UTC the Russian “Progress MS-26” unmanned supply spacecraft
was undocked from the “Zvezda” service module of the International Space
Station. At the same day, the spacecraft was deorbited and burnt down in
atmosphere over the South Pacific.

NASA astronaut Jon Andrew McBride died on August 7, 2024. He was the pilot on
the first mission to launch seven people into space (Challenger STS-41G). He
performed 1 space flight. He was 80.

On July
3, 2024 Chinese cosmonauts Ye Guangfu and Li Cong performed the spacewalk

The spacewalk lasted 6 hours and 32 minutes. It was the 3rd spacewalk
for Ye Guangfu and the 1st spacewalk for Li Cong.

“Cygnus” CRS NG-21 spacecraft docked to Space Station.
On August
6, 2024, the US "Cygnus” CRS-21 (NG-21, the S.S. Francis R.
"Dick" Scobee) private unmanned supply spacecraft was docked to the
International Space Station (ISS). The Cygnus spacecraft was grappled by a
robotic arm at 07:11 UTC. The cargo spacecraft was docked to the station’s
"Unity” module at 09:33 UTC. The spacecraft delivered about 3700 kilograms
of supplies to the Space Station.

“Cygnus NG-21” cargo spacecraft launched to Space Station.
On August
4, 2024 at 15:02 UTC the "Cygnus” privately owned U.S. unmanned supply
spacecraft was launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (LC40),
Florida, USA. The space vehicle was orbited by the “Falcon-9FT” rocket-carrier.
The "Cygnus” NG-21 (the S.S. Francis R. "Dick" Scobee) unmanned
supply spacecraft, built by Northrop Grumman under the Commercial Resupply
Services II (CRS-2) contract with NASA, was orbited on its cargo resupply
mission to the International Space Station. CRS means Commercial Resupply
Services.

Cygnus NG-20 spacecraft was undocked from space station.
On July
12, 2024 at 8:00 UTC, the US "Cygnus” CRS-20 (NG-20, the S.S. Patricia
"Patty" Hilliard Robertson) unmanned supply spacecraft was undocked
from the International Space Station. After that, the spacecraft, was released
by using the “Canadarm-2” orbiting complex's huge robotic arm at 11:01 UTC.

US astronaut Joe Henry Engle passed away.
Retired
NASA astronaut and U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Joe Henry Engle died on July 10,
2024 at his home in Houston. He performed 2 space flights. Among his many
honors, he is the only astronaut to pilot both the X-15 and space shuttle. He
was 91.

U.S. spacewalk was cancelled
U.S.
spacewalk was cancelled on June 24, 2024 due to a water leak in the
service and cooling umbilical unit (SCU) on Tracy Dyson's spacesuit.
Tracy
Dyson and Michael Barratt set their suits to battery power at 12:46 UTC and
opened the hatch to the space station's Quest airlock before reporting the
water issue.
"Oh
my goodness," said Tracy Dyson. "Water is flowing out of my SCU
guys."
