On March 24, 2020 at 03:43 UTC the "Chang Zheng-2C” (Long March-2C) rocket-carrier was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Xichang, southwest China's Sichuan Province. The rocket orbited three “Yaogan-30” military satellites. The exact purpose of the “Yaogan-30” satellites remains a secret. Information released by Chinese state media said the satellites are designed for “remote sensing” missions, and will be “used for electromagnetic environment detection and related technological tests.” The “Yaogan” series of satellites are believed to be operated by the Chinese military for intelligence-gathering purposes.
