On September 7, 2018 at 03:15 UTC the “Long March – 2B” (“Changzheng-2B”) rocket-carrier was launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province. The rocket orbited the “Haiyang 1C” ocean observation satellite designed to monitor ocean pollution, measure sea temperatures and track ship movements.
