On April 22, 2020 at 03:59 UTC the “Qased” (also “Ghased”, Persian: قاصد, “messenger”) rocket-carrier was launched from the Shahroud missile range in the northeastern part of the country. The launch site is situated in Dasht-e Kavir Desert (also known as Kavir-e Namak and the Great Salt Desert) is a large desert lying in the middle of the Iranian plateau. The rocket orbited the Iranian “Noor” (meaning 'light' in Persian) military satellite. This mission was the first successful satellite launch by Iran since February 2015, but it was the first by the previously-unknown “Qased” rocket-carrier. Attachments: |
